My Students

Hello! I am a 6th-grade teacher at a small charter school in Middletown, Delaware. I have a wonderful group of students with a wide variety of learning styles, backgrounds, personalities, and interests. My students are creative, clever, and are my inspiration. In 6th grade, organization is key to ensuring the success of all students. The transition to middle school becomes one of learned responsibility and independence. It is wonderful to see the transformation that takes place during their 6th grade school year.

My Project

My Students need a wider variety of books for our classroom library. Having a plethora of both fiction and non-fiction books will enable my students to become better readers. I often find that my students have read many of the books I have available to them and are looking for new or different choices. If I have a diverse selection of books, I can help them become readers for life. Providing them with titles they can relate to, along with some of the classics, will accomplish this. Exposing students to more titles that challenge them is my goal with this project.
