Build Our Language and Fine Motor Skills Through Play!
My students need the dollhouse furniture, magnetic blocks, building bricks, Panda village, whiteboards and other manipulatives to stimulate their language and fine skills through dramatic play.
We are a fully inclusive, full day classroom where some students have developmental delays and some do not. We believe that children learn through play and that is what we do in our classroom every day! We strive to create an environment where the children love coming to every day. We work on many skills such as social emotional, communication, self help, academic, fine and gross motor, sensory as well many other things. Children learn through exploring with their hands and moving their bodies. Our classroom is a place where the children feel safe, accepted and valued. Our classroom is often a child's first experience in school and we want to help nurture every child so that they develop the skills that they need to be successful in schools, well as a life long love for learning.

My Project
My students love to use their hands to build and create! I am requesting manipulatives such as the classic dollhouse, building bricks, magnetic blocks and panda village so they will be able to use not only their hands, but their imaginations as well. They will love all the pretend play with the dollhouse furniture. This will enhance their language skills as they play and problem solve together. My students will benefit from the sensory sand and dough as they explore different textures.
As we prepare for kindergarten, my students are beginning to use invented spelling to sound out words.
The whiteboards and dry erase markers, Alphabet and Number stampers, and Learning Letters Activity Centers will enable us to work as a large group to practice writing our letters, numbers and names.
