My Students

We read, write, chat, laugh and learn all while using the Italian language! My students are passionate; my goal is to cultivate this passion into authentic communication skills. Many of my students have a personal connection to the Italian language, either they have family ties to the language or very often they are already bilingual and are looking to expand their knowledge of other languages. Some of my students need to find a personal connection to the class in order to inspire them to know more. Hands-on learning helps motivate each student by creating a connection to the language. My goal is to personalize the language classroom so that all members of our classroom “famiglia” reach the goal of language proficiency.

My Project

The materials purchased through this request will give Italian students a 360 degree perspective on the Italian Language. My goal is to offer a hand-on component to our study of geography, car culture and travel. Imagine studying Italian culture and being able to build a Lego FIAT model or a city scape of Venice!? This project is a multi-tiered approach to a full-immersion classroom, regardless of hybrid or in-person learning. Students will be given building kits to help them learn more about the Italian language and culture! Step 1: research and choose an Italian monument or model that interests YOU. Step 2: during our asynchronous time build your model. Step 3: Use what you know- present the art/creationg project and your research to peers and teachers in the target language.

WE WANT TO: READ ABOUT IT, BUILD IT, TALK ABOUT IT!

The goal of this project is to offer language learning support through hands-on experience! Imagine researching the monuments in Rome and then being able to build the Colosseo with your own two hands!?! We believe that offering a creative connection to language learning will boost vocabulary development, literacy skills, cultural knowledge and communication! Grazie mille!
