My Students

At our school, our students are eager to learn by doing. We use an arts-infused curriculum to encourage self-exploration, build self-confidence, and increase social and emotional development.

I enjoy working with my students because they are surprising, creative, and all-around awesome.

We provide the resources; they take the concepts and soar.

Eighty-seven percent of our students are eligible for free and reduced-price lunch, and more than one-third of our families reside in subsidized housing. We partner with our students and families to provide a high-quality early childhood education and set them up for success.

My Project

These bucket drums will allow me to help teach self-regulation to my students while also having a blast and breaking out a sweat! I strive to make my classroom a safe space for children to be creative and express themselves through music, art and dance.

These drums are incredibly versatile and can be customized to meet the needs of all students.

With my training as a Music Therapist I embrace the power of rhythm to build my student's self-regulation skills. Bucket drums will lead us to incorporate more gross motor movement and whole body engagement. Bucket drums will allow students to engage in follow the leader, start and stop games, rhythmic training, literacy and physical fitness.

I have seen how drumming engages all of my students on small frame drums. This project will allow us to grow our music library and strengthen our social-emotional learning and physical health!
