My Project
My fourth grade students are eager learners with a strong desire to understand the world around them. Most are English Language Learners who face economic hardships. As a Title I school, we work hard to provide the support they need to succeed. Despite some obstacles, my students approach each day with enthusiasm and a love of learning, especially when they’re given engaging, grade-level resources that help them grow.
Scholastic News delivers current events and high-interest nonfiction in a way that is accessible and exciting for 4th graders.
With your support, I hope to provide a yearlong subscription to Scholastic News for each of my students, including both the printed magazines and digital access.
Each issue includes leveled articles, vocabulary support, and standards-based reading and writing activities. The digital version offers interactive features, videos, and read-aloud options that benefit all learners—especially English Language Learners and students with reading challenges.
Having both the print and digital versions will allow me to teach flexibly in small groups, whole class, or during independent reading. These magazines also help students build background knowledge for social studies and science, improve their reading comprehension, and become informed citizens.
Thank you for helping me give my students access to real-world reading experiences that will spark curiosity and build lifelong learning skills!
