My students need to be able to see what I can expose them to through the internet to enhance my lessons and give them concrete examples. We need a projector.
This project expired on December 18, 2016.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students come from very diverse families. Many speak English as their second language and are new to this country. With that being said, they travel with little to nothing when they leave their homeland. This makes having the essentials for school a distant priority.
These families want their children to succeed and work hard in school.
They are involved as much as they can be with needed interpreters for conferences and visits to the school. I want to give my students everything that all children need and deserve to be successful, so that they can become amazing citizens in our melting pot.
My school can only provide so much and this means that I have to fund my own projects if I want my students to have necessary items for completion. We all want our own children to have what is needed to really enjoy education and making it meaningful, so I must work to give my students the same.
My students need to be able to connect what I am teaching to what they can see. This gives them a visual and allows their brain to start remembering and making sense of the information that comes at them.
The projector allows me to make things large enough for my students to see the detail in every picture and gives them text that we can dissect together.
It is a powerful tool that I cannot live without in making sure my students are successful.
When I am speaking about a geographical place, we can immediately go there and experience the culture through pictures and text. This gives my students an example of what I am asking them to do as they research topics independently or in groups.
