My Project

We have not had a functioning media center in our school for the past ten years. Taking on the transformation of this space is an enormous task and takes the support of our community. Our students are getting accustomed to checking out books and learning the ins and outs of library usage. We are in need of basic supplies to get our system up and running. Displays and vibrant signage are also vital in making this a welcoming space.

Reading is an extremely integral part of everyday learning for everyone, not just our students.

A lot of students have started coming to the media center during lunch and I like to have puzzles and conversation starters for them. I like to give out bookmarks with each book checked out as a personal touch. I also love to surround the students with positive affirmations that they can carry with them throughout the day. Our walls are blank and I have had to get creative with how to display book series and popular titles.
