My Project

My youngest learners grow so much when they can do more than just listen to a story — they need opportunities to retell it, act it out, create it, and make it their own. I am requesting a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card through DonorsChoose so I can purchase storytelling and arts-based resources designed for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st grade students. DonorsChoose does allow TPT gift cards through its shopping portal, which makes it possible to access teacher-created materials tailored to my students’ needs.

These resources will help me provide engaging activities that connect literacy with art, performance, and imagination.

With TPT storytelling materials, students will be able to sequence stories, retell important events, use puppets and visuals, respond through drawing and crafts, and strengthen oral language skills through hands-on participation. These kinds of activities are especially powerful for young learners because they make stories memorable, interactive, and developmentally appropriate.

Many of my students come to school needing rich opportunities to build vocabulary, listening comprehension, and confidence with language. Storytelling and the arts help make that possible. This project will allow me to purchase high-quality resources that support early literacy while giving students joyful ways to create, perform, and connect with the books we read together.
