This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school believes that all students are capable of reaching their full potential by providing a safe environment, differentiating instruction, holding our students accountable, and empowering our students in the classroom and beyond.
My integrated co-teaching classroom consists of 25 students, some of whom have Individualized Education Plans.
Second grade begins a new chapter in the life of students. They are becoming more independent individuals who are quickly learning new skills. My students have funny, entertaining personalities, and they never cease to amaze me daily.
My Project
Loving to read is a goal I want every child to achieve in my classroom. My students deserve the chance to be acquainted with fun characters that get them excited to pick up a book and find out what is going to happen next. These specific texts will reach many different levels of learners and will provide them with interesting books to practice their individualized skills in.
There is no substitute for books in the life of a child.
Students will be able to use these texts to work on their accuracy, fluency, and comprehension goals, which in turn will allow them to grow as not only readers, but life long learners.
