My Students
My students are currently in a school with limited digital tools. Since we are not a Title I school, we have limited funding for technology. My students come from a suburban setting and have a wide range of life experiences. The class is very excited about using technology, when available, to learn. Our school serves grades K-5 with roughly 800 students. There are 70 students on my team. Students come to me to learn science and social studies through hands-on learning experiences.
My Project
This project will enhance our 4C's grant funds this year. Through this year's grant, students will be building solar houses with air conditioning, lights, fans, and other enhancements. They will also be working with solar cars.
This grant allows students to be able to use coding skills to program their homes through door controls, fan speed levels, music, and scrolling house names.
As students get more engaged to bye-in to their learning, the lessons become more powerful to them. The micro bit boards will allow students to have more ownership in the design of their portable homes and will allow for all levels of learners to find success.
