Our class is comprised of students from all different backgrounds. They all have one goal in mind; they want to grow as much as they can this year in all subjects!
We serve students in Special Education and RTI Tiers 2 to 3.
More than half of the students are from a low socioeconomic background. Typically students shy away from school work but not these students. They are eager to “dig” deeper every single day!
All of the "labels" placed on the students do not hinder them. The labels but make them strive harder each day to achieve more than they did the day before, especially when it comes to challenging areas. Our classroom is filled with students who are all striving to achieve success each school day.
My Project
Our students would be able to use the Ozobots to engage more with each other. They would help enhance our lessons and make them more interactive. We have a set of Ozobots for the county and our students absolutely loved them, but since all teachers want to use them, they are not readily available.
We could create interactive maps and trails that the Ozobots explore, just like our students explore in their own research.
Examples of this would be the Oregon Trail with a map of geographical features with the coding so the Ozobots could follow the trail. They could also create an interactive solar system and build each planet on top of the Ozobots.
The Ozobots are an innovative piece of technology that can easily be incorporated into the classroom. It would boost student engagement and allow for a more student lead approach to learning.
