Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Spanish students are eager to deepen their language skills, but they need authentic, compelling texts that engage their hearts as well as their minds. With your support, our classroom will be able to read Solito, La Casa en Mango Street, and Soñador—three powerful novels that center Latinx voices, identity, resilience, and belonging.

These books offer accessible, meaningful language input while also exploring themes my students connect with personally: migration, community, dreams, and finding one’s place in the world.

Reading these novels in Spanish will help students build vocabulary and fluency while engaging in rich discussions about culture, identity, and lived experiences across the Spanish-speaking world.

Your contribution will allow all students to access these transformative stories. Thank you for helping us build a classroom library that reflects my students, honors their diverse backgrounds, and inspires them to see themselves as readers, thinkers, and global citizens.

Also, my classroom is very cold (the heater does not work fully)! So we can use the space heaters and blankets. Thank you so much!
