In our school, our students are very hard workers and they are very excited to learn every morning when they come to class. We are a very diverse school; at times we will have students that speak at least 2 different languages where English is not their first language. Many of my students' parents will have more than one job so that they can support their family. Even though they are not in their child's life as much as they want to, the parents still have high expectations for their own children. Because of their home life they look to us to help their student grow and become successful in life.
In my classroom, we are always striving to do better, and understand that we can all do hard things.
I tell my students that education is the only thing that can not be taken away from them. With this mindset, my students are always trying to better themselves by setting goals to do so. They may have a hard lifestyle at home, but they love coming to a school where it is a safe learning place.
I have had students tell me they have headaches and the lights hurt their eyes. I want to try and prevent them getting headaches so that they can focus on the learning that is happening in the classroom. These covers will help with the harmful fluorescent lights in my classroom.
Students also do amazing things when we can get outside and learn. With the traveling desks we will be able to easily take our lessons outside and my students will be able to learn and grow!
