Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach 4th graders in an inner city school in New Jersey. I love my job and find it to be one of the most rewarding feelings when I can change or influence one student's outlook on something. This year, I have 21 students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and neighborhoods. I have 11 students who have special needs in my classroom. It would greatly benefit my students to have a document camera that will allow them to share their stories with their classmates.
My Project
My students would benefit from a document camera to help improve their reading and writing skills. My students will use this camera to take pictures of our work and share our work with other students. This camera will also allow me to share non-fiction texts with my students in order to practice their close reading skills. We use a variety of science and social study articles to enhance our learning on a daily basis and this camera would allow me to share these documents with the students. A camera would also allow my students to be able to receive immediate feedback on their stories from their peers without forgetting what was said before they return to their seats!
