My Students

I love being a music teacher.

Seeing my students thrive and experience the true joy of music is the best part of my day. My students come from many different backgrounds. Some finished up their chores in the barn before they come to school. Some rush off to dance class as soon as the school day is done and some look forward to school because it's the only place that they are cared for.

I teach prek - 6th grade general music and chorus. The students that I see are creative, passionate, resilient, and caring. I look forward to seeing them and creating music every day.

My Project

The global pandemic has drastically changed what music is like in our school. We are unable to sing or play wind instruments inside. Being from Vermont, the time we can spend outside in good weather is limited.

We have decided to start a drum line to keep students engaged in the band.

Our students will use buckets, and a limited amount of snare drums. Our goal is to add a xylophone to our band. This will allow three more students to participate in our band.

During this difficult time, students are struggling to find their new normal. I would love to be able to offer them a familiar, fun, and engaging opportunity.
