My Students

Kindergarten is such a monumentous year! Kindergarten is the year where some children have their FIRST exposures to a classroom setting, learning, friendships, social experiences, and become a part of a community. We are a family! We learn from one another, respect one another, and most importantly have fun with one another!

Our classroom is filled with hands on experiences for learning.

We have 17 students with different backgrounds, abilities and skill sets. Despite their differences, there is a commonality for fun and excitement in all young children. My job is to foster and create even more excitement. Therefore, our day is carefully crafted to appeal to young children who want to experience learning through movement, singing, reading, writing, playing, dancing, and SO much more! My students' first experience of school will be imprinted on their heart and create a fire burning inside them to love school and learning. Again, Kindergarten is a monumentous year, so why not make it unforgettable?

My Project

A light table in my classroom means students' get to explore and have fun while learning! Our light table will be used during center time for academic skill practice. For example, my students can use the light table and manipulatives to create letters and words. My students can use a light table to reinforce their number recognition and math sense.

The best part of having a light table in the classroom is my student's ability to plan, explore, and create using problem solving skills and access their creativity.

A bonus to having a light table is also to build and strengthen my students' fine motor skills. Finally, who wouldn't want to see the illumination and light of the various colors flash as they work as a community to solve a problem!
