Help me give my students everything we need to help us implement a joyful, positive Morning Meeting! Each day we will use authentic literature and interactive activities that include reading, math, science, and social studies.
My 4th-grade students are awesome kids! They represent many different countries and many of my students are fluent in two languages. My class of 30 students are diverse in many ways. They are a diverse class in who they are, where they come from, the languages they speak, the way they learn, and so much more. I learn so much from my students! They come to me with a wealth of information that they love sharing. I love learning about their cultures, native countries, and their languages. We have a wonderful time learning from one another!
My students are enthusiastic about their education, and are always excited to learn new things.
They love to listen to stories and get totally immersed in the plot where they don't want me to stop reading! They are becoming amazing writers and are always trying new things. My students LOVE science! They are naturally curious kids and have tons of questions about the world. They enjoy hands-on science investigations and making new discoveries. We are a class that cares about each other and are always taking the time to do kind things for one another.
My Project
This year my district is including a social/ emotional block of time into our daily schedule. I am so excited for this addition to our day! It is important to have time to check in with my students to see how they're morning is going, and make sure they are ready to make the most of their day. The materials I am asking for will help us have positive, fun, engaging classroom meetings everyday! We will be doing engaging activities from all subject areas, and we will be working all year to build a positive classroom community where all of my students feel safe and cared for.
These morning meeting materials will help foster individual feelings of significance and belonging, set the tone for a respectful class culture, help support social and emotional learning, and ultimately increase academic learning.
I love teaching all academic subject areas, but kids need time to learn and practice social skills and problem-solving strategies so that they can be more successful in their academic learning and their everyday lives. I am thrilled to incorporate a morning meeting into our daily schedule, and I cannot wait to see the positive effects it has on my students and our classroom.
