My students need these essential back to school supplies for their everyday usage in school. These back school supplies include rulers, number lines, notebooks, pencils, folders, glue, book baggies, center games and hands-on tasks supplies.
Most educators feel their students are the best and greatest. Although I can't argue with their opinions, I happen to think that I have the best and greatest students on this planet. There isn't a day that I don't look forward to seeing their faces and seeing them develop in knowledge and wisdom before my eyes. I may be their teacher, but they teach me so many lessons each day as well.
Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis, they are always eager to learn and never give up hope.
I want to instill the joy that learning can bring regardless of the challenges my students face on their own.
The supplies listed in within this project will support my students from the very first day of school until the last the day of their fourth grade school year. The supplies listed are items that are difficult for my school to find additional money for funding. The supplies start as small as pens for writing to a storage shelf for the class set of iPads. These supplies will be shared with two classes of fourth graders. They will be using the supplies either in their independent work task and/or group work tasks. For instance, within this project are owl pellets for my students to learn about the digestion system during my planned on science lesson for the approaching school year. Also, with your help, plan on provided my students with several opportunities to increase their reading comprehension through the use of reading comprehension games and daily journaling.
Assignments cannot be completed without the use of supplies.
Through the engagement factors of using hands-on tasks and interactions with their peers, they need these supplies to help support their thinking. However, we are in an extremely low-income neighborhood, and my students can barely afford to purchase their own supplies. I buy most of the supplies out of my own pocket, which I don't mind, because they appreciate it so much. Over 95% of the students qualify for free lunch, and over 90% receive public assistance. Any amount of donation will truly be appreciated in my eyes as well as my students.
