My Students

My special education students are a unique blend of young people who are creative and brilliant, but struggle with emotional and behavioral challenges. I want my young scholars to work hard everyday and try their best, and I want to provide them with resources to make it easier for them to accomplish that.

I know my students carry the potential to succeed in the face of challenges in and out of school.

My vibrant, inquisitive, high-energy students come from diverse backgrounds and varied learning abilities. Our school is in a large urban school district with one hundred percent of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

These products will help keep my students healthy in and out of the classroom. These healthy snacks will be added to our care cupboard to keep them focused and fed; hygiene products for students who may not have access to them at home and to protect them from germs and viruses anywhere, especially in school. A brand new desk chair is a great way for the teacher to stay healthy, but it is also used as an incentive for a student to be king for a day and use the teacher's chair like a throne.

This pandemic really has taught us that we need to bring being healthy back into our lives.

We know that it is not all about the academics in school anymore, but goes beyond that to the social emotional needs of our students. That connection must be healthy for the academic pieces to fall into place.
