My Project

My third grade students live in a small rural town in North Carolina. Many are unaware of the happenings outside of their community. Scholastic News allows students to learn about various events, cultures, and people in the United States and other countries.

Scholastic News will also provide information about current science and social studies topics.

At this time, my district does not provide curriculum for these subjects. In addition to these subjects, Scholastic News also provides interesting reading topics for my students.

In conclusion, this project will promote reading for information and fun, help students understand current events, and provide content to help students understand social studies and science topics.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
