My students need the art easel center to help meet their developmental needs. The art center will help my students with motor skills and pre-writing skills.

My Students

My primary Montessori class is full of eager and excited 4 years old students who are ready to to explore the world through structured work and play. I serve many low income and at-risk students, which creates many challenges both in and outside of the classroom.

I hope to provide a learning environment that fosters each students' needs, helping them develop themselves as individuals.

The Montessori environment should be rapidly changing to keep up with current themes and each students' progress.

My Project

This art center is critical in the development of my students. My students do not receive direct art instruction, this center would allow me to include art into our daily work cycle.

Art develops motor skills, vocabulary and language skills, decision making, and creativity.

Students would learn through creative painting, drawing, and art projects. In addition to these skills, art raises cultural awareness through themes and materials, builds confidence (students work being displayed, decision making), and helps students learn how to follow steps and directions (guided drawing, set up and clean up, story telling.) I hope to build a love for art in all my students!
