My Project

I get to work with 22 amazing first graders! They are friendly and empathetic, and some of the best people to be around. These students, and the students I will have for years to come, have been severely impacted by the pandemic, and need additional mental health support.

I've found something that works: yoga!

My students love following videos, or just following along with me, and the focus and calm that comes after we practice yoga is palpable. Not only does yoga improve their flexibility, but it teaches valuable breathing and mindfulness techniques that carry into their everyday lives.

The yoga mats will make our classroom a more accessible place to practice yoga. The additional materials will increase the fun activities we can use to tie yoga into our day. And the storage will help me keep it all in order! I appreciate your support for our classroom!
