Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school serves students in grades PreK-5 and provides rigorous academics, enriching field trip experiences, fantastic teachers and a safe and welcoming learning environment. My fifth-grade class is comprised of 35 amazing students, most of whom come from bilingual households and receive free or reduced-price lunch. We are Title I and as a result, the students do not have the funds to purchase up to date materials or technology.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions that absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions.
They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited to learn.
My Project
In today's technologically advanced society, teaching is now very dependent on technology in order to deliver instruction, keep students engaged, and monitor their progress. By donating a new classroom Dell desktop computer, I will be able to plan more efficiently, teaching with online resources and interactive board activities, and monitor student progress through online application use and our district testing platform.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Having up to date technology will allow me to keep my students focused on learning and optimize their instructional time to meet the variety of student needs.
