Help me give my students VersaTiles to have handheld manipulatives to bring a better understanding of math.
This project expired on March 9, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students come from a Title I school where about 60% of the students qualify for reduced-price or free lunch. With that stated, I am fortunate to have a fourth-grade classroom filled with the most unique and wonderful students. They come equipped with magnificent minds, determination to learn, and the ability to think deeply. Wonderful students, wonderful minds! To ensure their success, my fourth-grade classroom has become a place of challenge and discovery. Students spend their year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need to continue to grow and have success in advanced grades to come.
From deep down in the rural part of Roosevelt, Utah, these students are excited to explore the world of learning in their academic surroundings.
They push themselves to the capacity in academic skills, life skills, and critical thinking. They take pride in what they are learning and challenge their individual minds to continue to grow inside and outside of their school walls.
These Hand2Mind tiles will allow my students to bring manipulatives to math. Adding this into our learning arrangement will optimize our active learning environment.
This year, we have been revamping our math lessons and our small group arrangement to meet the needs of my fourth-grade students.
This style of learning will be an amazing experience for my students' growth in their academic success. These manipulatives will bring math straight to the students' hands and build a better understanding of math. With this active environment, we could take learning leaps further and have them actually achieve higher academic success. This opportunity will help prepare them for the challenges they will face in academics and allow me to teach in a more effective, engaging, hands-on way.
