Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The most expensive item will be used for organizing all of the materials to make preparation easier for all 960 students. My goal is to take a story I read with our PK3, PK4 and Kinder students and help them create a keepsake of the story. They will be able to tell the story to their families using the project they created.
By being able to connect a project and a story together I firmly believe this will enable our student to start making connections.
For example: the story "A Fish out of Water", students will be able to design their own fish tank. When they bring their project home, they will remember the story by talking about the picture.
Any opportunity that children can make by creating a project and connecting it to a story gets them talking and excited about the next story. This also gives enhances communication skills between other students as well as their parents.
