Our school is a welcoming environment with a strong belief in building on the talents and experiences of our diverse student population. 76.5% of our students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, 25% are English learners, and more than 96% are students of color.
My class is made up of 32 enthusiastic students who are ready to learn and grow together.
We work hard to build a strong and supportive classroom community in which everyone can and will succeed. We learn and grow together through the sharing of our individual backgrounds and stories. Each perspective is respected and valued.
Art is such an important part of a child's development, but due to budget cuts and time constraints, it is often cut from our curriculum. The paints, canvases, and charcoal included in this project will allow us to create a special painting project which will teach the students important foundational art techniques they can later use to experiment with a variety of techniques. The colored pencils will provide the students with the chance to create drawings and bring them to life! These colored pencils can also be used to illustrate the children's books, color code math problems, take science notes, etc. They will provide lots of opportunities for creative and academic development.
