Bring Aquatic Science into the Classroom!

My Project

We have approximately 240 students taking Aquatic Science in an area where we don't have access to an ocean nearby or many water facilities that are accessible during a class period. Doing dissections on sea stars, mussels, and perch, gives our students the ability to see these animals up close and learn about them.

Help bring hands-on experience into the classroom!

Students love to get involved in science. We try our best to teach students about freshwater and saltwater environments and give them a new aspect on water life. We teach them how to respect the water around them.

Between the two teachers in this Aquatic Science program, we have built a program that students love to take but unfortunately, our budget is very low. Our students have a year-long project that allows groups of 4 to have their own individual fish tanks and learn how to maintain them throughout the year. Most of the budget covers the maintenance of the tanks. Freshwater tends get to get overlooked and it's challenging to find things that will work in the classroom. We discuss water quality at a lengthy extent, and this will allow them to visually see what we are discussing. Your donations are greatly appreciated!
