I teach at a middle school in Brooklyn with awesome 8th grade students who love to learn. My students have so much energy and are always finding ways to release it. My students come from many different backgrounds and have many life experiences to contribute to their class learning. Not only are the students diverse based on background, they are also diverse based on their learning styles and interests.
My students are always asking how the math concepts we are learning applies to their world outside of the classroom and trying to make connections on their own.
My Project
Astrobright card stock and colorful chart paper will add fun color to our classroom and the content being taught. Important information will pop and stand out in the room compared to regular white paper.
Bright colors will grab my students attention.
It will give the classroom a more engaging and inviting feel for my students. The colored chart paper can grab the students attention. I am hoping that student will be able to remember specific topics because it is posted in the room on a certain color paper. Connecting the math with a color may help their memory. So, maybe when they are not in the room they can still picture the information posted on colorful paper on the classroom wall.
