My Project

I teach an incredible group of middle school students who are working hard to level up their reading skills. In our classroom, small-group instruction is the heartbeat of our day. It is where we break down complex texts, build vocabulary, and create a safe, engaging space for every reader to find their voice and grow their confidence.

Middle school readers need dynamic, highly engaging tools to stay motivated and make sense of challenging text.

This project is designed to give my small reading groups the physical tools they need to interact actively with what they read, collaborate seamlessly, and track their growth.

Astrobrights Colored Paper ("Brilliant" and "Pastel" Assortments): Color is a powerful organizational and engagement tool for adolescents. We will use these bright, durable sheets to color-code reading strategies, print interactive graphic organizers, create vocabulary flashcards, and design differentiated reading stations that make learning visually stimulating.

Magnetic Desktop Dry Erase Boards & Dry-Erase Strips: Small group instruction requires plenty of quick-check, low-stakes practice. These double-sided magnetic boards and dry-erase strips will allow students to brainstorm ideas, map out story elements, write quick spelling/vocabulary responses, play word games, and collaborate in pairs right at their desks without wasting paper.

With these supplies, my students will transform their small group workspace into an interactive reading lab where collaboration, game-based learning, and active reading thrive. Thank you for supporting our middle school readers on their journey to literacy success!
