Bright Minds, Bold Bins: Boosting Reading & Math Independence!

Help me give my students multi-colored plastic tubs, hanging folders and file folders to make self-paced literacy and math stations that support independent learning for all students at their level while creating time for one-on-one learning with me!

My Project

In my inclusive classroom, students come with a wide range of needs—some are multilingual learners, some are recent immigrants adjusting to a new language and culture, and many face the challenges of growing up in low-income households. One-size-fits-all instruction just doesn’t work. That’s why I’m building self-paced reading and math stations using plastic tubs, hanging folders, and multicolored file folders. These stations will allow each student to access learning at their level, in their time, with dignity.

As the photo demonstrates, the current state of things is frustrating to students so these new materials are necessary for them to be able to work independently, allowing me time to give focused, targeted support where it’s needed most—especially to those who may otherwise fall through the cracks.

Prizes will help keep motivation strong, and the routine will build independence and confidence. These tools aren’t just about organization—they’re about equity, empowerment, and giving every student a chance to shine.
