Much research has been done on the effects of classroom setup as it relates to learning in the classroom. As a new teacher in a school with limited funds, I'm doing my best to setup my classroom so that my students are supported by their physical environment and using research-based science in making my decisions. Currently there is no comfortable space in my classroom for students to gather for group instruction and no specialized seating for students who require movement to focus during independent work. My project will remedy this through the purchase of a comfortable and vibrant interlocking foam pad (which can be easily cleaned!). I've intentionally chosen multicolored tiles so that I can rearrange them to reinforce the learning of color names and shapes. I've chosen four wiggle cushions in black for durability and stain resistance. By providing an appropriate physical environment, my students' will increase tremendously. Your donation will help give us the materials to help them meet their full potential.
