Brick by Brick: Engineering Genius in Gifted Minds

Help me give my students LEGO building sets and baseplates to help them transition from 2D blueprints to 3D models in math and visual storytelling and plot diagraming in ELA.

My Project

My AIG students are curious, inventive thinkers who thrive when challenged to look at the world in new ways. In our gifted classroom, they are more than students—they are emerging architects, engineers, and urban planners. What sets them apart is their drive to not just understand how things work, but to figure out how to make them better. They learn best when ideas are hands-on, allowing them to experiment, fail, and refine their thinking.

To bring abstract concepts to life, I am requesting LEGO sets and baseplates.

These tools will form the foundation for our architecture units in mathematics, letting students transform 2D blueprints into 3D models while exploring scale, area, perimeter, and spatial reasoning.

The LEGO sets will also enhance learning in reading and social studies. Students can create 3D storyboards to analyze plot structure or design museum-style displays for our unit on Revolutions, making complex ideas tangible and memorable.

By supporting this project, you are providing my students with the tools to turn their ideas into reality. You are helping them move from imagination to innovation—creating a classroom where creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning come together.
