Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have been an educator for 11 years and I’ve taught Pre-K Head Start for the last 8 years. I hold a Masters in Science in Curriculum and Instruction, a Bachelor in Science in Child Development, a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and a Child Development Site Supervisor Credential. I have had the privilege of working with wonderful 3,4, 5 year old children and parents from low economic areas, teaching them the importance of preschool and what a powerful impact it has in the foundation of a successful educational journey towards achieving academic success and self development.

This summer I am excited to begin a wonderful journey I will become a certified yoga instructor qualified to lead wellness classes for my students and school community.

My Project

As an educator I will grow professionally after attending this summer training by gaining a deep knowledge in Yoga, Mindfulness, and Socio Emotional Practices. The training will help me learn and attain certification that will empower me to be able to help myself, my students and school community learn to become more engaged, have smooth transitions, develop healthy socioemotional skills, self control, practice mindfulness, socio justice, self acceptance, focus their minds through breathing, yoga and meditation and develop compassion for themselves and others. It will allow me to be able to share what I have learned to love myself, and to love and serve others.
