Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My class is a special group of children. They are girls and boys who have many struggles or obstacles to get through each and everyday to come to school and be successful. They live in the city that constistently is named "the most dangerous city" but my students fight to over come that label everyday by coming to school and succeeding.

They work hard to do their best in everything we do in class.

So even though they might have struggles children should not have to deal with, my children succeed and are great learners, students, and children.

My Project

Do you remember having a good breakfast at home then your parents sending you on the way to school? Many of my students don't have that morning start, so I want to make sure my students have something to start their day if they miss breakfast in the cafeteria. The items will also be sent home if food is an issue at home.

Can you imagine being in second grade and your belly being empty?

These items will help me provide extra support to those students I worry about by letting me send home something in their backpack. This way those bellies might not be so empty.
