My Students

I work at a gifted school. Every day I teach different groups of students from our district's nineteen elementary school. Our students are typical kindergarten students who think out of the box. The common thread with all of the students is that they act like six years old, but think 2-3 grade levels above that. They are fast thinkers and thrive on hands-on activities and movement to help them process information. Students will benefit from having alternative seating while reading, writing, and thinking.

My Project

Students love solving mysteries. Break out boxes allow them to us critical thinking to problem solve while investigating mysteries. The break out boxes that I create will enhance the curriculum and will inductive and deductive reasoning skills. In addition the break out boxes will provide students with the opportunity to collaborate and build teamwork skills. In the world today, it is my job to prepare students for the future. Many jobs require people to collaborate to solve real world problems. Grade level curriculum can also be incorporated into the break out box session to support classroom learning. It's highly engaging.
