This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

LOCHS students want reasons to care about school.

In my history classes, we create binders that contain all of our work.

At the end of the quarter, students use all their work for a culminating project. We design covers for the binders, and they end up as a source of pride for students at the end of the quarter, when they see how much they have learned and accomplished.

Unfortunately, our current binders are hand-me-downs, with crumbling bindings and the remnants of previous classes' work. Our students comment about the poor quality of their supplies.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
