My Students

Did you ever dissect a worm, frog, or maybe a fetal pig? Today's classroom's budget has taken that learning experience from students. I want my students to have that experience back, and brains are what meets our state standards and curriculum.

My students are "Gifted" testing in the top 2% of the population in IQ in the nation.

They are full of potential but don't have the tools to reach that potential. Education budgets simply don't allow for experiential learning these days. I try to find my students interests and then find the tools for them to excel at their interests. It's amazing how excited the students are when they know they have tools to help them become experts in whatever it is they choose. This year they want to be medical scientists and dissect brains. They are fascinated with the anatomy, function, and mystery of their own brain. A sheep's brain is most like the human brain.

My Project

My students need BRAINS! for dissection. My young students are fascinated with the mysteries of the brain. Your donation to this project will allow EACH ONE of my students to get their hands on real-life science. I have found old lab coats, dissection tools and trays. All we need now is the sheep brains. My students will learn EVERYTHING about their own brains, but maybe more important they will learn to be scientists with this project.

You might not believe this, but in most elementary schools, science is only allowed to be taught 60 minutes per week.

I have more freedom than the regular classroom teacher and with that freedom try to focus my students in experiential science. Most of my students will graduate from high school never touching real science. By funding this project you are supporting science education and possibly inspiring a future doctor.
