it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My middle schoolers have chaotic lives! Between school, home, and phones, they are rarely in a calm state of mind. Our classroom uses laptops for reading programs, research, quizzes, and even learning games. This is so much stimulation! So, I make a point of using lighting, oil diffusers, and soft music to create a calmer atmosphere in our classroom.
When students finish an assignment, I encourage them to engage in an activity not on their electronics.
These activities are simple, such as puzzles, coloring sheets, note cards for letter writing, and, of course, books! It is charming to watch students spend the last few minutes of class taking a break from bright lights and loud sounds.
