My Project

I think we can all agree that we do not do our best work or have the best attention span when we are hungry. I know for myself when I am hungry that seems to distract me from whatever task I am attempting. The same goes for kids. When they are hungry, they are not going to do their best in school. It may be they got to school late and missed breakfast. It may be that the school lunch was just too gross for them that day (lets face it that is a VERY REAL possibility).

Having a supply of healthy snacks available to my students would help them keep their mind off hunger and back where it belongs - on their school work!

I am not trying to feed my students a snack time every day, but it would help them feel safe and cared for to know that when they need it they can come grab a snack to help them get through the day.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
