This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

State testing is just around the corner and my 4th graders will be testing next month over the course of 5 different days. We've talked a lot in class about the importance of brain fuel and the need to take breaks and have healthy, glucose-filled snacks when we do hard tasks. State testing is one of those hard tasks. As students have learned, the harder the task, the more fuel (water and snacks like fruit) our brain requires.

I'll be providing my class with fresh fruit for testing days and I'm hoping that with your support, I can provide my students with healthy snacks to enjoy when we take our brain breaks on testing days.

These state testing days can bring a lot of stress for students, but as I've found in the past, when we take short snack breaks in between, it makes the assessment much more manageable and less stressful for students, which in turn helps them perform much better on these days.
