My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.
At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 92% of the students are students of color.
The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.
My students are incredibly curious and creative 4th graders. I see them engaged in critical thinking and problem solving. Recently, we got a table for our classroom that is perfect for building puzzles. We've received some puzzles from DonorsChoose.org, and we love them. We need more. By having access to engineering-focused activities, like puzzles and mazes, my students will develop their creativity and critical thinking skills. These activities will provide focus and purpose during our Morning Work time and indoor recess. With these activities, we will continue to develop our creative brains and build a stronger classroom community.
My students have so much passion for learning and for creating--we need more opportunities to expand our perspectives and our creativity.
This project will be just the ticket; it includes 8 high-quality engaging puzzles and several brain-teasers, like tangrams.
