Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten students come from low income families. We are in a Title I school with a huge majority getting free/reduced lunch. I currently have 24 students: 12 girls and 12 boys. Many students also come from single parent homes. Most of the students ride the bus to and from school as there isn't much neighborhood housing. There is always potential for getting more students in the class. I have room for 28 students. My students are busy and eager to learn.

My students are amazing!

They have great hearts and are such good friends. We have an awesome community built within our classroom.

Each child in my classroom deserves the best, and that is what I am striving to give them.

My Project

I selected these various math and literacy activities to help my students get hands-on practice of those skills. I will use these products for work box activities as the students arrive each morning. There are opportunities for math skills, such as counting and numeracy skills. I will also use them for literacy skills such as alphabet knowledge and letter sound knowledge.

Giving my students the ability the have daily hands-on practice is the best way to increase their learning potential.

I want to give my students all of the experiences that they would not have the opportunity to get at home.
