Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project includes books that I think will interest the boys in my class! My girls are all eager readers, but the boys are struggling. They enjoy Dog Man because there are “not that many words on each page and there are pictures!" I hope Big Nate will be a similar series that they can branch out to. The Star Wars book is for one of my students who has almost finished the previous 7 books. His enthusiasm for this series is contagious, so I'm hoping that by having the complete set, more boys will be excited to read them!

And speaking of things being contagious, is there anything more infectious than a 5th-grade boy's obsession with Lionel Messi?!?

I CAN CONFIRM, THERE IS NOT! I have never seen a group of students bond like my class did this year after the World Cup. The excitement, adrenaline, and mutual admiration for Messi are still running strong! Hoping these biographies will help them find a practical enjoyment in reading.
