My Students
The students in my class are enthusiastic and amazingly creative! My scholars are diverse with 20 students coming from 9 different countries. While living in the inner-city with parents working multiple jobs and having multiple siblings and new babies my students show up every day and do their very best.
These scholars are getting varying degrees of support and still are dedicated to learning.
Most of my students are English Language Learners who may not have English speakers at home. I have multiple projects open some to support their at-home distance learning and some so that I am ready for them as soon as we return to in-class learning. I will also be mailing students rewards for all of their hard work.
My Project
As a new teacher, I have a pretty sorry classroom library. My students are returning for in-person learning and I would love to give them some options that will inspire their joy for reading. I have requested not only classroom staples but books that focus on social emotional skills and STEAM. My hope is that my students both in class and at home can be given reading materials that will engage them. I feel that many of my students are tired of reading on their devices and apps. It would be wonderful to see out little library grow.
