My Project

For our classroom library, we are always looking to replenish our classroom library with fresh, new copies of culturally responsive literature. My students are always looking to read books and literary texts that they can relate to personally, and academically to challenge themselves.

My goals for this project is to enhance my classroom library with culturally relevant books that they can see themselves in.

Books such as "I will always write back" and "In the time of the butterflies" are modern classics that appeal to my precocious and inquisitive black and brown students. Reading these books will allow them to build on their independent reading stamina that builds on challenging their reading skills and analysis skills.
