My Project

As I sit here and think about my past and current students, I think about how flexible seating has benefited so many of them. A huge part of a Kindergartener's learning process starts with choice and feeling empowered by having some control of their environment. Providing a variation of seats for active, growing, and learning 5 and 6-year-olds is a crucial piece to the education puzzle.

Flexible seating encourages students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive.

The products I selected will help my students feel as comfortable as possible and promote a constructive learning environment. Aside from being adjustable, the wobble chairs are an opportunity for alternative seating at my teacher table which would be pivotal during mini lessons. The chairs will also help students who need an extra wiggle or wobble to appropriately release their energy. Additionally, the rug chairs and bean bag will help my students stay engaged during rug times. Lastly, the SEL materials will help my Kindergarteners navigate their emotions and feelings in a safe way. If my project were to be funded, it would increase engagement while also meeting individualized needs. I would be so grateful to have the opportunity to help my students grow.
