Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 2 classes (about 50 kids) of amazing 3rd grade students that I have the pleasure of teaching math and science to. Our school is primarily composed of working class families, about half who receive free and reduced price lunches. Our school strives to provide "endless possibilities" for each and every student that enters our campus, regardless of their financial or other circumstances. Every day we work to make meaningful relationships with each student and help them reach their academic goals.
My Project
The Bouncy Bands will provide students with the ability to move and fidget in their seats without distracting themselves or others around them. These bands allow students to stay focused, even after being seated for longer periods of time due to the freedom to move and push their feet against the bands. These bands are excellent for students struggling with ADHD, or anyone who is not a robot and sits totally still all day long. When using the Bouncy Bands kids can wiggle while they work! These bands are made of sturdy rubber to take a beating for multiple years of active students. Students can finally move and focus on their learning when using the Bouncy Bands.
