This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Strong spirits, big energy, and a desire to succeed, are how I would describe my students. They rise above the challenges of poverty and second language acquisition daily.

Despite things they don't have, they "rock" what they do have daily.

They are full of gratitude and a zest for life. I aspire to provide them an outlet for their energy. My students are inspirational. I want to do all I can to support their learning and encourage them to attain and maintain physical fitness.

My Project

Most people learn "hands-on." Having the needed equipment for each student to try activities out for themselves is crucial to skill development. Of course we learn team sports, teamwork is a huge part of student social development. I think we can all relate to getting a new red ball to play with ourselves vs. dealing with the classic "ball hog."

Tossing, catching, dribbling, are fundamental skills used in sports such as four square, ball-wall, basketball, and the beloved kickball which are taught each year.

We can incorporate these balls into team sport challenges as well as personal aerobic activities.
