This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a third-grade teacher at an amazing elementary school in Clearwater, Florida. My third graders attend a Title I, high-poverty, inner-city school where all students receive free breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

My students are very diverse and many of them are learning English as a second language.

The rest of the dedicated staff and I work hard to foster a loving, safe environment where our students are encouraged to work hard every day. Please consider donating to my classroom!

My Project

My students have already been exposed to flexible seating and it has been a hit! I have seen such improvement in their focus and participation. My students are eager to get to class early in the morning so they can choose a yoga ball. Unfortunately, we only have a few. I would love to get some more to allow more of my students to use this flexible seating option.

Studies show that flexible seating options in classrooms help to keep students' minds engaged, alert and focused.

I love to provide my kids the opportunity to choose their seating arrangements, allowing them to take ownership of our learning environment.
