My Students

My students are a brilliant group of eighteen 8 and 9-year-olds. Each one has a different passion, but all of them have a love for education. We are a Title I school. Title I means over 65% of our school student population is living below the poverty line. Many of the students at my school come from one parent households or are being raised by grandparents or other relatives. While this is disheartening, the lack of resources at home has never stopped my students from wanting to learn more.

My Project

Flexible seating in the classroom is such an effective way to keep our wiggle worms moving and learning. This project will provide students with stability balls where they can be active and move around while completing work at their desk. Children have tons on energy and what better option than to give the students the ability to move about during the school day. Also we have included two bean bag chairs for our reading area. I would love to give the students a cozy spot where they could relax and really dive into whatever book they were reading. They are so excited about this project!
